Stop modifying behaviour and start solving the problems that cause that behaviour


Modifying behaviour doesn’t solve problems.


When a child throws a tantrum, for example she communicates much to the parent ready to listen.


She might still be lacking the skills to delay gratification or develop tolerance.


Managing behaviour by modifying it would only address the tantrum but not the real need to learn how to delay gratification or develop tolerance.
